Prezentacja polskiej kampanii społecznej “HIVokryzja. Wyleczymy się.”

Dyskusja z udziałem: Agaty Kwiatkowskiej z Fundacji Edukacji Społecznej, lek. med. Tomasza Rojewskiego, aktywisty grupy Stonewall, zakonnicy Sióstr Nieustającej Przyjemności – Pawła Ziemby oraz dramaturga i artysty Szymona Adamczaka.

W sobotę 1 grudnia Galeria Miejska Arsenał włącza się, obok takich instytucji, jak The Broad, Los Angeles; Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago czy Casco w Utrechcie, w obchody Światowego Dnia AIDS. Pokażemy filmy z archiwum Visual AIDS i podyskutujemy o wirusie HIV w Polsce. Poruszymy tematy związane ze stygmatyzacją osób żyjących z HIV i wynikającą z niej ich prekaryzacją, zdekonstruujemy mity, które narosły wokół choroby i postaramy się wyleczyć nas wszystkich z HIVokryzji. Oddamy głos grupom najbardziej narażonym na brak strukturalnej pomocy w przeciwdziałaniu i leczeniu HIV/AIDS, czyli osobom o prekarnym statusie, mniejszościom etnicznym i seksualnym, a także grupie osób w średnim wieku, które bagatelizują możliwość zakażenia. Uznając, że najbardziej niebezpiecznymi chorobami są niewiedza i milczenie, postaramy się znaleźć na nie antidotum.

Screening of films from the Visual AIDS archive will bring us closer to the activities of such groups as: ACT UP NY, Positive Women’s Network, Sero Project, The SPOT, Tacoma Action Collective and VOCAL NY. The presentation will be preceded with an introduction of Karolina Kubik, artist and activist, lecturer at the University of Arts in Poznań.

Subsequently, the Polish social campaign: „HIVokryzja. Wyleczymy się” will be presented.

Before we will open the flor to other inputs and comments, we will ask Agata Kwiatkowska from the Social Education Foundation, doctor Tomasz Rojewski, Paweł Ziemba, activist of the Stonewall group and a nun of Sisters of Perpetual Pleasure as well as artist Szymon Adamczak, to share with us their professional experiences and subjective thoughts on HIV and AIDS.

On Saturday, 1st of December, the Arsenal Municipal Gallery joins, alongside the institutions such as The Broad, Los Angeles; Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago or Casco in Utrecht, the celebration of the World AIDS Day. We will screen the films from the Visual AIDS archive and discuss HIV related issues in the Polish context. We will rise up topics related to the stigmatization of people living with HIV and the resulting precarisation of them, we will deconstruct the myths that surround the virus and will try to cure us all of HIV-ocrisy. We will give voice to the groups most exposed to the lack of structural assistance in the prevention and treatment of HIV / AIDS, that is to people with precarious status, ethnic and sexual minorities, as well as a group of middle-aged people who underestimate the possibility of infection. Diagnosing that the most dangerous diseases are ignorance and silence, we will try to find an antidote to the

D’EST: A Multi-Curatorial Online Platform for Video Art from the Former “East” and “West” pojawi się w Pawilonie na zaproszenie Zofii nierodzińskiej i Galerii Miejskiej Arsenał. We współpracy z piętnastoma kuratorami, czterdziestoma artystami oraz ekspertami z zakresu sztuki i kultury, D’EST mapuje artystyczne formy historiografii w świecie po 1989 roku, szczególnie przypatrując się perspektywie pracy kolektywnej oraz kobiecej. W sobotę, 24 listopada 2018 r. zapraszamy na projekcję piątego rozdziału „We Are Family”, której towarzyszyć będzie rozmowa kuratorek programu Natašy Ilić and Jeleny Vesić z poznańską publicznością.

Łącząc narracje autobiograficzne, historyczne i fikcyjne „We Are Family” opowiada o osobistych i politycznych tarciach pojawiających się w dystopijnym świecie po 1989 roku. Narracja rozgrywa się pomiędzy postaciami: Gościa, Matki, Kochanka(-i) i Innego. Pojęcie rodziny w jej szerokim znaczeniu pokrywa się ze zróżnicowanymi relacjami społecznymi, wspólnotowymi, intymnymi, osobistymi i politycznymi.

Od 25 listopada rozdział piąty będzie dostępny online dla wszystkich zarejestrowanych użytkowników platformy.

Wstęp wolny. Wydarzenie będzie przeprowadzone w języku angielskim z równoległym tłumaczeniem na polski. Napisy w języku angielskim i polskim.

This November Zofia nierodzińska and Arsenal Municipal Gallery invite D’EST: A Multi-Curatorial Online Platform for Video Art from the Former “East” and “West” (2018-2020) to Pawilon. In collaboration with fifteen international curators, fourty artists, and other cultural experts, D’EST maps out artistic forms of historiography on a post-1989 world, especially from the perspective of female and collective production. On Saturday November 24, 2018, D’EST screening chapter #5 “We Are Family” will be launched by its curators Nataša Ilić and Jelena Vesić in conversation with respondents and audiences from Poznań.

Entwining autobiographical, historical, and fictional narratives, We Are Family speaks about generational, personal, and political frictions, about rifts and entanglements unfolding in the dystopian context post-1989. The notion of family appears as an extended signifier. It overlaps with differentiated fields: social, communal, intimate, personal, and political. The relationship between four figures maintain this tension – that of the Guest, the Mother, Love, and the Other.

From November 25th onwards, chapter #5 will be accessible online for all registered users.

Free admission. Language of the event is English with consecutive translation into Polish. All videos are available in both languages: English and Polish.
